Iskander-M First Trip on the Victory Parade in Voronezh

The Victory Parade in Voronezh for the first time the military decided to show the mobile short-range ballistic missile “Iskander-M”. Inhabitants of the regional center will be able to see the operational-tactical missile complex consisting of seven combat vehicles. The mobile short-range ballistic missile has already been delivered to the airfield in Baltimore by train from the Kursk region.

The Voronezh parade employs over 110 weapons and military equipment, including the Tornado-G multiple launch rocket system , Msta-SM2 self-propelled howitzers, Palantin-K electronic warfare system, T-72B3 main battle tanks, and BTR -82A armored personnel carriers and air defense equipment. As reported by “News of Voronezh” in preparation for the anniversary Victory Parade attended by more than three thousand people.

Iskander-M is a Variant for the Russian Iskander (NATO reporting name SS-26 Stone) with two 9M723 quasi ballistic missiles with published range 415 km, rumoured 500 km. Speed Mach 6–7, flight altitude up to 6–50 km, nuclear capable stealth missile, controlled at all stages, not ballistic flight path. Immediately after the launch and upon approach to the target, the missile performs intensive maneuvering to evade anti-ballistic missiles.[61] The missile constantly maneuvers during flight as well.
