Raytheon Showcases Missile Defence

As the Gulf region lurches from one security crisis to another, the need for missile defence is increasing as insurgent groups and states develop long-range attack capabilities to threaten their rivals and uphold their defence infrastructure.

With systems such as Patriot widely operated in the region, improvements to missile capability, tracking and detection are likely to be closely monitored.

At the Dubai Airshow, Raytheon’s Bruce Brown, senior manager of business development for air and missile defense systems in the MENA region, explained the ongoing work involving the SM-3 and SM-6 naval missiles and their transition into land-based aerial defence roles.
