Cambridge Pixel’s radar acquisition, processing and display solutions have been chosen by TSS Solutions of Melbourne, Florida, USA, as part of a much larger project to upgrade the capabilities of one of TSS’s AN/TPS-43 transportable 3D radar systems. TSS’s radar upgrades provide enhanced detection capabilities for air-defence operations, as well as giving the owners of existing radar equipment an affordable option over purchasing a new, highly expensive system. As experts in the modernization of tactical radar systems, TSS Solutions uses state-of-the-art technology to improve the radar sensitivity, stability, display, and other features in its TIGAR (TSS Integrated Ground-based Air Radar) system, which is a fully upgraded AN/TPS-43, AN/TPS-70, AN/TPS-72, AN/TPS-75, or AN/TPS-78.
Cambridge Pixel’s founder and managing director, David Johnson, said, “We are pleased to be able to offer the level of flexibility and expertise required to support such a highly technically-capable company like TSS. Our modular solutions allow customers to choose the capabilities they need, and our wide experience allows us to deliver first class engineer-to-engineer support.”
To support these upgrades, TSS has carefully selected products from Cambridge Pixel’s modular software that provide the high levels of performance and flexibility needed to meet the project requirements. By combining TSS Solutions’ extensive expertise in radar technology with Cambridge Pixel’s advanced radar processing and display capability, the upgrade delivers significant enhancements to the capabilities of the OEM system.
