EDGE entity, ADSB, a leader in the design, new build, repair, maintenance, refit, and conversion of naval and commercial vessels, today announced the launch of a 92 metre Corvette, a fast and powerful vanguard vessel, which is designed by ADSB in the UAE. The Abu Dhabi-based shipbuilder made the announcement at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA 2023), being held in Malaysia until 27 May. Attendees of LIMA can visit EDGE and its participating entities at stand A07 at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC) in Langkawi, Malaysia.
David Massey, CEO of ADSB, said: “Presenting the 92 metre corvette in time for LIMA 2023 marks a significant achievement for us as we reaffirm our commitment to the Southeast Asian markets and expand our product portfolio to meet the challenges and requirements of navies and coastguards around the world. ADSB is demonstrating remarkable progress in designing together with its strategic partners, building, and exporting world-class vessels, and we look forward to presenting its capabilities and engaging with prospective customers during LIMA.”
Designed, constructed and equipped to perform a wide range of coastal missions, the dynamic multi-domain vessel features a helicopter deck and hangar, capacity for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operations, two rigid hull inflatable boats, various combat systems, electronic warfare (EW) systems, and a broad range of countermeasures. With stealth features and ballistic protection, it delivers advanced surveillance and safeguarding capabilities across air, surface and EW domains in the near-shore theatre. Propelled by combined diesel and diesel (CODAD) engines, it achieves a top speed of 28 knots and an endurance of over 4,500nm at cruising speed.
ADSB is the regional leader in the new build, repair, maintenance, refit and conversion of naval and commercial vessels. With almost a quarter century of service to the UAE and beyond, we have evolved into one of the most experienced shipyards in the region, and our shares have been traded on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange since 2003. Deploying the latest technologies, we help maximize fleet availability, extend ship lifetimes and lower overall lifecycle costs.
