ARX Robotics is pleased to announce the successful deployment of ARX GEREON RCS systems with the German Armed Forces, enhancing NATO’s operational capabilities along the Eastern Flank in Slovakia. This strategic deployment, initiated in May 2024, integrates the combatproven systems into both training exercises and ongoing operations as part of NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence. The GEREON RCS systems, notable for their robust performance in active batlefields, have been crucial in adapting our forces to contemporary military needs. Capable of reaching speeds of up to 30 km/h and a functional range of 40 km before a batery swap or recharge is required, these unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) excel in maintaining operational pace with the troops across challenging terrains. Their compact design and advanced control capabilities out of armored fighting vehicles enable rapid and flexible deployment. These systems are now seamlessly integrated with both mounted and dismounted mechanized infantry of the Bundeswehr, forming a dynamic and adaptive unmanned system network.

Equipped with the proprietary ARX Autonomy Kit, the GEREON RCS can undertake autonomous missions across diverse terrains, guided by advanced sensor technology and artificial intelligence. Marc Wietfeld, CEO of ARX Robotics: “Our unmanned ground systems deliver the essential adaptability and modularity needed for operations by the German Armed Forces, enabling swift adaptation to changing mission conditions. With autonomous capabilities, we are broadening the operational spectrum of our NATO forces on the eastern flank. The GEREON systems have demonstrated their exceptional ability to protect and support our primary systems and our soldiers on the ground. We are honored by the trust bestowed upon us by the Bundeswehr and NATO, and driven by a shared commitment to safeguard Europe.”

In the hands of the Multinational Battle Group Slovakia, the GEREON RCS units are vital for tasks ranging from reconnaissance and logistical support to RASEVAC missions and signal corps operations, significantly strengthening the Enhanced Vigilance Activities Mission of NATO. For dismounted troops, the GEREON systems provide autonomous and remotecontrolled transport for loads up to 500 kg, execute casualty evacuation, and perform sophisticated surveillance and reconnaissance using cuting-edge sensor technology. Their adaptability and modularity multiply ground units rapid response capabilities, critical for the success of ongoing operations. The GEREON RCS systems also greatly augment the situational awareness of armored units, facilitating both close-range and forward reconnaissance. These UGVs are adept at evaluating the passability of various terrains, scouting strategic areas, and identifying obstacles such as mines, or even detecting ambushes and enemy positions.
