The Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) inducted three new ATR 72-600 twin-engine turboprop aircraft into service on August 31, 2023, at Don Mueang International Airport. The aircraft will be used to transport important people and general passengers. The ATR 72-600 is a twin-engine turboprop aircraft that is produced by a joint venture between Airbus and Leonardo. It is a popular choice for regional airlines due to its fuel efficiency and short takeoff and landing capabilities. The RTAF’s ATR 72-600s are equipped with the latest avionics and safety features, including a flight management system, weather radar, and terrain awareness and warning system. The ceremony was attended by RTAF Commander Air Chief Marshal Napadej Rojanasunand, as well as representatives from ATR and the aircraft’s manufacturer, Airbus. In his speech, Air Chief Marshal Napadej said that the induction of the ATR 72-600s was a major milestone for the RTAF. He said that the aircraft would help to improve the RTAF’s ability to transport personnel and cargo, and would also help to boost the morale of the air force. The ATR 72-600s are the latest in a series of upgrades to the RTAF’s fleet of aircraft. In recent years, the RTAF has also inducted new fighter jets, helicopters, and transport aircraft.
