ZVS Holding has revealed plans to make a substantial investment of nearly EUR 31 million over the next two years to expand its production capacity for 155mm artillery ammunition. The investment, spanning 2023 and 2024, is set to encompass advancements in production technologies and a comprehensive overhaul of the industrial infrastructure, the company has announced. The decision to amplify production capacity follows a noticeable surge in demand for artillery ammunition throughout Europe, primarily attributed to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. This strategic move reflects the company’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of European armed forces during these challenging times. ZVS Holding’s ambitious investment strategy entails the modernization of key production facilities located in Dubnica and Svin. Among the notable upgrades, the Svin facility is slated to acquire a state-of-the-art, automated machine specially designed for the fabrication of 155mm artillery shell bodies. This advancement promises to enhance efficiency and precision in the production process, reinforcing the company’s position as a key supplier of high-caliber ammunition.

Established in 1937 as part of the renowned Skoda Plzen concern, ZVS Holding has a rich history in mechanical engineering, electrotechnics, and specialized production. 155 mm artillery ammunition from the portfolio of MSM GROUP is a product that can be used in many of currently used 155 mm guns and howitzers all around the world. MSM GROUP ammunition was tested in such 155 mm weapon systems like ZUZANA, NORA B-52, G5/G6, M109, M198, FH-70, KRAB, KH-179 and many others. The ammunition can be used against infantry, armoured targets as well as against structures. The company base bleed ammunition of types HE ER BB and HE ER FB BB ensure extended range of more than 30km when fired from 39 calibre gun, up to 43 km when fired from 52 calibre gun. The minimum fragment coverage area for the HE projectile is not less than 3100m2 per projectile. All of MSM GROUP 155mm ammunition is supplied with point detonating fuzes of their own design – KZ 984. The KZ 984 fuze fulfils all NATO standards requirements for 155mm ammunition, but the company are able to offer ustomers other type of fuzes – proximity, time and multi-purpose along with our NATO standard partners. MSM GROUP 155mm ammunition is currently in service in more than 18 countries around the world.
