Excalibur International Presents KHAN Tactical Ballistic Missile System at IDEF 2023

The defense company Excalibur International, which is part of the industrial-technological holding Czechoslovak Group (CSG), participated in the 16th International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF) 2023. Excalibur International focuses mainly on large international projects of supply of turnkey solutions or provides logistics and financing of projects in the field of defense and civil industry. At the IDEF 2023 fair, Excalibur International presented in the form of detailed models of components, an integrated tactical medium-range ballistic missile system, on which the company is cooperating as a system architect and integrator with the Turkish defense industry and several defense industry companies in the Czech Republic.

With this project, Excalibur International, together with its partners, has already succeeded in Indonesia, for example, where in the fall of last year it won a contract for the BORA ballistic missile system for more than 500 million euros. Its export version is called Khan. The medium-range ballistic missile system has a range of several hundreds of kilometres and can thus effectively attack strategically and tactically important targets, such as command posts, air defense systems, missile and artillery systems, or elements of critical military infrastructure, even deep behind enemy lines area. Thanks to the latest targeting and guidance technologies, the system does not need any additional support of radar systems or meteorological sensors and similar equipment for its operation.

Its impressive 610mm diameter and 2,500 kg weight with a remarkable range of 80 to 280 km. The missile’s guidance system is nothing short of state-of-the-art, combining the accuracy of GPS (Global Positioning System) and GLONASS (Global Navigation Satellite System) with an INS (Inertial Navigation System). Its composite solid propellant type ensures stability and consistency in performance, while the 470 kg high-explosive warhead packs an explosive punch that can devastate enemy targets with a single strike. The inclusion of both point detonating and proximity fuze types only adds to the versatility of this weapon, allowing for different attack strategies and target engagements. The accuracy of the KHAN Missile is equally commendable, with a Circular Error Probability (CEP) of ? 10 meters.

All system components, such as launchers, command posts, reloading systems or service support, are placed on Tatra Force chassis produced by Tatra Trucks company. The company will be represented at the IDEF 2023 trade fair by representatives of the Tatra Export company. IDEF (The International Defense Industry Fair) is a defense industry fair that has been organized every two years by the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation since 1993. This year will be the 16th edition, during which more than 1,000 local and foreign companies will be presented on an area of 120,000 m2 and in 14 halls. In 2021, over 500 Turkish and more than 700 foreign exhibitors from 53 countries presented themselves in Istanbul during the 15th edition.
