The training missions will be flown in the Baltic states’ airspace on 29 March 2023. As a part of the training event, the Finnish F/A-18 Hornets will visit Ämari Air Base in Estonia for the first time after the break caused by COVID-19 restrictions. The previous visit took place in 2019. The Finnish Air Force regularly conducts training missions with the NATO Baltic Air Policing detachments in the Baltic Sea region. The missions provide Finnish personnel with first-hand experience in international cooperation and the planning of multinational air operations.
