Rheinmetall is supplying an European customer with 155mm artillery ammunition. In December 2022, the customer placed an order for the delivery of 10,000 L15 shells. To be delivered in 2023, the ammunition is worth around €33 million. Rheinmetall has been a reliable partner to the artillery since the very beginning of its foundation in 1889. Rheinmetall Defence supplies an extensive of array of 155 mm ammunition for a wide variety of missions at long ranges of engagement. These include high explosive shells, illumination rounds for the visual and IR spectrums, multispectral smoke/obscurant projectiles, the sensor-fused SMart round, and practice ammunition.

Rheinmetall sets the standard of excellence for the highest priority modernisation needs of artillery systems, particularly in key aspects of long-range precision fires – firing systems, cannon-delivered projectiles and propellants. Rheinmetall’s PzH 2000* 52-calibre length (L52) 155 mm howitzer tube is widely considered the best in its class and the celebrated Assegai family of 155 mm munitions, paired with Rheinmetall’s new Extended Range Top Charge propellants, have substantially outperformed conventional artillery systems in live fire testing. Rheinmetall offers a wide variety of indirect fire weapons and munitions, ranging from artillery to mortars .
