The recent contract for a complex air defense solution and tactical ballistic missile system for Indonesian Ministry of Defense, valued over €500 million, confirms the place of Czechoslovak Group among the world leaders in the field. Excalibur International belonging to the Czechoslovak Group (CSG) holding signed a subcontracting contract with Turkish defense company Roketsan in September 2021. Under the contract, Roketsan-produced KHAN and HiSAR missiles will be delivered to the Indonesian Army within the scope of the project in which the Czech Excalibur company is the main contractor. The companies have successfully cooperated with Indonesian customers in the past and this is the next chapter of relationship. The scope of the contract requires close cooperation of companies across CSG, most importantly Retia Inc., Eldis and Tatra Trucks a.s.

While the offer was submitted by Roketsan to the main contractor Excalibur company, it was learned that the loan to the Indonesia will be provided by Czech Eximbank. The main contractor Excalibur signed a contract with the Indonesian Ministry of Defense for the sale. In terms of weapon systems and ammunition, Excalibur signed a subcontracting contract with Roketsan in September 2021. The contract is planned to enter into force in 2022. Under the contract, Roketsan-produced KHAN and HiSAR missiles will be delivered to the Indonesian Army within the scope of the project in which the Czech Excalibur company is the main contractor. Excalibur International acts as the overarching architect of the integrated system of agreements and leads negotiations with business partners.

The TriSula Medium/High Altitude Air Defense System, which is a part of larger contract negotiated between Excalibur International and the Indonesian Department of Defense, was recently unveiled. The development and production of this system combines the reliability and ingenuity of Tatra vehicles with cutting edge missile technologies, developed by a renown Turkish manufacturer Roketsan. Details on the Indonesian configuration or the program schedule have not yet been made public, however, reports have indicated that the Indonesian system name is “Trisula-O” suggesting that the configuration may be based on the HISAR-O. The missiles are developed by Roketsan, while most sensors and electronics are developed by Aselsan.

KHAN, the export version of the BORA Missile currently used by the Turkish Armed Forces. Bora is a tactical ballistic missile developed by Turkish company ROKETSAN. It has 610 mm diameter, a length of 8.0 m, a total weight of 2800 kg, and 280 to 700 km maximum range ramjet. It uses GPS and inertial guidance and carries a 570-kg high-explosive or fragmentation warhead. Accuracy is 30-50 m CEP. It was tested and entered service in May 2017.The missile can be launched from an 8×8 Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher (MBRL). In accordance with the customer’s requirements, it can also be launched from other tactical wheeled vehicle platforms with integration-compatible interfaces. KHAN utilizes a completely new platform Tatra T-815 8×8.
