Warsaw-based supplier of hardware, radars, and weapons system PIT-Radwar and Mechanical Works Tarnów (ZMT) presented during MSPO 2022 a new configuration of the OSU-35K naval air defence system. Following the recent tests on naval firing ranges, including test firing, the qualification of the equipment came to an end by issuing a state armament certificate. And this also has been the last stage of this project. The OSU-35K naval air defence system has been designed to equip the Kormoran II-class mine countermeasure vessels and will also be installed on the three future Miecznik frigates for the Polish Navy.

OSU-35K is fitted with a 35 mm automatic cannon coupled with an independent, optoelectronic target tracker. The system consists of the AM-35K automatic cannon, integrated ZGS-35K observation/tracker sensor, BSKO-35K fire control station, and secondary/reserve RSKO-35K fire control station. The gun offers a rate of fire of up to 550 rounds per minute and features a dual, two-sided feed. The maximum range is defined as 4,800 meters. The system weighs 3,300 kilograms, ammunition excluded. BSKO fire control system block integrates elements of the OSU-35K system in real-time.

OSU-35K has been tailored for work within the Combat Management System (CMS) network. The open architecture of the system, its modular design, and scalability make it possible to integrate the solution on many vessel types. It ensures communications between the elements of the system, also providing the user with firing solution data. The OSU-35K is capable of acting against maneuvering airborne threats (changing their heading, speed, and altitude within the kill box), and surface threats. This scenario is the case, should the BSKO be faulty, or should no relevant engagement data be fed through CMS.
