Swiftships has been awarded a $22.1 million contract for six 28m Coastal Patrol Craft material production kits, Zodiac RIBS, and equipment under a US Foreign Military Sales (FMS) case to Egypt. Swiftships’ 28m boat has a top speed of 25kt and a range of 900nmi, which can be extended by afloat refueling. Work under the FMS deal will be completed by November 2023, and contract options could increase the value of the work to $26.35 million. Under the contract, the company will also supply Forward Looking Infrared Systems, personal computer packages, and associated contractor engineering technical services for the program. Swiftships says it has so far built around 30 boats for the Egyptian Navy including mine hunters, survey vessels, and both steel and aluminum patrol boats.
Swiftships’ 28 Meter Patrol Boat is designed for multiple roles, including coastal defense, anti-surface operations, Maritime Security Operations (MSO) and Maritime Interdiction Operations (MIO), surveillance and intelligence gathering, search and rescue, etc. The boat is based on an exceptionally well proven hull and can be built in all steel, all aluminum or a steel hull with aluminum superstructure. Weather survivability includes sea state 5 at the best heading and fully operational capability at sea state 3. This vessel runs on diesel fuel, has a top speed of 25 knots and a range of 900 nautical miles. Maximum range can be increased by side-by-side refueling at sea.

The MK93 Mod4 gun mount is for use with both the .50 cal or MK19 machine guns and (with adapters) the M60 and/or the M240 machine guns.
