The President of the Republic and the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Army, Aleksandar Vučić, attended at the “Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović” airfield in Batajnica the demonstration of new unmanned aerial vehicles CH-92A of the Serbian Army, which have the capability to attack with laser-guided missiles as well as an enhanced airspace reconnaissance capability. The presentation was also attended by the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Army, General Milan Mojsilovic. President Vučić pointed out that these are six new Unmanned Aerial Vehicles purchased in the People’s Republic of China, which can shoot at their targets from a distance of about nine kilometers, and at the same time record the terrain and position of enemy units and objects deep in enemy. territory.

The Serbian Armed Forces are the first in the region to be equipped with the unmanned aerial vehicles CH-92A whose action radius is more than 250 kilometres, its maximum flight altitude is 5,000 metres, while its speed is a bit less than 200 kilometres per hour. The system of unmanned aerial vehicles CH-92A represents a multifunctional system that can be used for realisation of a wide spectre of tasks, such as air reconnaissance, precise determination of coordinates of spotted targets on the ground, automatic tracking of moving targets on the ground, intelligence preparation of theatre, artillery fire correction, assessment of effects of engagement, assault by laser guided missiles on the targets on the ground, laser designation of targets for the purpose of engaging other laser guided ammunition – bombs and missiles.

Following the viewing of the new unmanned aerial vehicles of the Serbian Armed Forces, answering a reporter’s question regarding the current situation in Novi Pazar, President Vučić explained that he spoke that morning with generals of the Serbian Armed Forces who were in Novi Pazar and that the situation was better than the previous day. He stated that the Serbian Armed Forces should have been engaged earlier in that town to provide assistance. Today’s presentation was also attended by Air Force and Air Defence Commander Major General DuÅ¡ko Žarković and Acting Assistant Minister of Defence for Material Resources Nenad Miloradović PhD.

CASC Rainbow (Cai Hong, abbreviated as CH) is a series of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) developed by the China Academy of Aerospace Aerodynamics of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), also known as the 11th Academy of CASC, or 701st Research Institute.CH-92 is a fixed-wing UAV in conventional layout with V-tail and tricycle landing gear. Propulsion is provided by a propeller driven by a pusher engine mounted at the empennage. CH-92 is mainly intended for reconnaissance and surveillance missions. Earlier reports said that Serbia will take delivery of 9 reconnaissance/combat drones with a possible follow-up order of an additional 15 drones. The wingspan of CH-92A is less than 10 meters. The flight range is 150km. The drone can fly at a height of 5km at a speed of up to 200 km/h.
