The Boeing Co., Mesa, Arizona, was awarded a $564,505,720 modification (P00044) to Foreign Military Sales (Netherlands, United Arab Emirates and United Kingdom) W58RGZ-16-C-0023 for the remanufacture of Apache AH-64E aircraft. Bids were solicited via the internet with one received.
In August, Boeing secured a $145.9-million contract for the Netherland’s Longbow Crew Trainers. In September 2018, the nation signed a letter of offer and acceptance worth $1.2 billion for upgrading the Dutch fleet of AH-64D Apache helicopters. In July, the company was awarded a $96.9-million contract to provide support to the Apache helicopters and Longbow crew trainers in the UAE.
Fiscal 2010 Foreign Military Sales funds in the combined amount of $564,505,720 were obligated at the time of the award. U.S. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the contracting activity. Work will be performed in Mesa, Arizona, with an estimated completion date of March 1, 2025.
The AH-64E attack helicopter is the latest version of the AH-64, used by the US Army. It is also known as Apache Guardia or AH-64D Block III. It has a number of improvements and upgrades, including more powerful engines, updated Longbow fire control radar, transmission and other improvements. In July, the U.S. Army revealed its plans of granting the company a multiyear contract to remanufacture up to 600 Apache AH-64E helicopters.
