The Khan artillery missile system, designed and produced by Roketsan, can provide mass fire power on High Payoff Targets within area of influence of the army. Roketsan reported that the Khan missile has a diameter of 610 mm, a total weight of 2500 kg, and a 470 kg high explosive (HE) fragmentation warhead. Khan is an international name, while locally this system is known as the Kaanor the Bora . Khan missile provides high lethality depth by means of its long range. Khan missile can be launched from Roketsan made Weapon System and other platforms with applicable interfaces and integration.

The Khan artillery missile system is designed to engage enemy personnel, armored vehicles, and other high-value targets such as command posts and defense batteries. The Khan is essentially a Turkish license-produced version of the Chinese M20 system. These are Chinese BP-12A missiles, license-produced in Turkey by Roketsan. The cannisterized missile is compatible with various platforms, including the Belarusian MZKT-7909 heavy high-mobility chassis and Turkey’s 8×8 Tactical Wheeled Vehicle. The China National Precision Machinery Import and Export Corporation (CPMIEC) marketed ithe BP-12A surface-to-surface missile weapon system, which can carry a 480-kg warhead within ranges of 80 km to 280 km, just short of the 300-km range and 500-kg payload export restriction under the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR).

On 10 July, the Turkish Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM) was posted a video of what appears to be a continuation of the test cycle of a new KHAN artillery missile system. The KHAN advanced long-range surface-to-surface missile system developed by Turkish company Roketsan is undergoing acceptance trials. The missile itself has a solid fuel rocket motor and a range of 280-400 kilometers. It is controlled by aerodynamic control with electromechanical actuation system.
