On 6 July, the US Department of Defense (DoD) announced that California-based PKL Services, Inc. has been awarded a USD10,236,530 firm-fixed-price contract, for military aircraft, Singapore’s RSAF F-15SG fighter aircraft, maintenance and operations training. This award is the result of ties are grounded in historical cooperation between U.S. and Singapore, common interests and shared perspectives. The new contract is part of a continuation of FMS awards that began in 2012 with a five-year, USD51 million contracts also awarded to PKL. This contract provides for the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) training on F-15 multi-role fighter aircraft developed by Boeing. and includes both maintenance and operations on the F-15 aircraft. Work will be performed at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho.

It is also worth noting that the F-15SG is a special variant produced for the Republic of Singapore and is the one of the newest and hottest F-15 version to date. F-15SG is an advanced variant of the US Air Force’s F-15E Strike Eagle multi-role fighter aircraft developed by Boeing. It is intended to strengthen air defence and strike capabilities of the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF). Singapore, which is very secretive regarding its military, has also not disclosed the number of F-15SGs it has acquired, although a count of the airframes seen so far would indicate that it has 40 aircraft if these latest eight are included.The F-15SG is one of the most advanced F-15 models currently in service, being equipped with the Raytheon AN/APG-63(v)3 active electronically scanned array radar and Lockheed Martin’s Sniper targeting pod. The F-15SG can perform air-to-air and air-to-ground attack missions in all weather conditions.
