Fury lightweight air-launched precision-guided glide munition

188

Fury is a 27 in (68.6 cm)-long and 3 in (7.62 cm)-diameter compact glide munition intended primarily for carriage on medium-altitude unmanned air systems (UAS) and tactical UAS (TUAS) platforms (with potential application for light attack/intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance aircraft and Class IV UAS platforms). Weighing 12.7 lb (5.8 kg), the munition is fitted with a 4 lb (1.8 kg) combined effects warhead developed by Saab, and a Textron-developed operator selectable tri-mode – impact, height of burst, and delay – fuze. A Selective Availability Anti-spoofing Module-equipped GPS-aided inertial navigation mid-course guidance and semi-active laser (SAL) terminal guidance package enables the weapon to engage both stationary and moving targets at range to within one metre accuracy, and/or fly to specific target co-ordinates.
Marketed jointly by Textron and Thales UK for the global market, the munition is derived from technologies in the Lightweight Multirole Missile (LMM) family of precision weapons developed by Thales, and leverages a number of systems that are engineered and integrated by Textron Systems.
