Earlier this month, Textron Systems sold the first 24-foot TSUNAMI™ craft to the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Dahlgren Division. This transaction marks a significant milestone in the collaboration between Textron Systems and the U.S. Department of Defense. The award includes the state-of-the-art TSUNAMI craft, engineering support, and an advanced surveillance technology package. Textron Systems’ relationship with NSWC Dahlgren signals a continued commitment to supporting the United States military and its strategic objectives. NSWC Dahlgren, will utilize the TSUNAMI as a test and evaluation asset for future Payload, autonomy, and automatic target recognition sUSV development. The craft will also be utilized as an open architecture test platform to support the USN Fleet for both domestic and international exercises. This partnership aims to enhance the capabilities of maritime forces, ensuring optimum readiness for future missions.

With numerous hours of testing and on-water performance, TSUNAMI embodies the future of maritime solutions with its design focusing on being attritable, rapidly deployable, and fully autonomous. As an attritable asset, the TSUNAMI is affordable enough to be expendable if mission conditions necessitate, aligning perfectly with customer objectives that call for reduction in sustained costs during operations. This low-cost solution doesn’t just mean savings; it implies flexibility in mission planning and execution. Equipped with sophisticated sensors and data-processing systems, the craft can execute complex missions without direct operator input, freeing up valuable human resources for other critical tasks. Its integrated surveillance technology package enhances its role as an essential asset in reconnaissance and intelligence-gathering operations, providing real-time data critical to mission success.

In addition to being low cost, TSUNAMI combines a world class production line with rapid scalability ensuring the craft can be rapidly produced to meet the evolving needs of maritime missions. Utilizing a high-volume production line with a global logistics and maintenance infrastructure, TSUNAMI is ready to support missions worldwide.
