International Armored Group (IAG), a leading manufacturer of armored vehicles, proudly announces the grand opening of its newest production facility in Burgas, Bulgaria. This state-of-the-art center marks a significant milestone in IAG’s ongoing commitment to delivering cutting-edge armored solutions across Europe and beyond. The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of H.E. President Rumen Radev of Bulgaria, along with various VIPs and government dignitaries. Their support during this momentous occasion underscores the importance of this expansion for both IAG and the region.
“This is the beginning of a production process that will create different types of combat vehicles for infantry, army, police, and fire brigades, all meeting the highest NATO standards,” Anton Stefov, owner of IAG said. Despite initial scepticism from some quarters, Stefov remained committed to investing in Bulgaria, highlighting the strategic importance of the country’s location and capabilities. He expressed his pride in the swift development of the plant, which was completed ahead of schedule in just one year.

The new facility, strategically located in the Burgas industrial zone, spans an impressive 150,000 square meters and represents an investment exceeding BGN 20 million (approximately €10.2 million). With the establishment of this plant, IAG expects to create over 300 jobs, contributing significantly to the local economy. Focusing on innovation and advanced technology, the Burgas plant will specialize in the production of over 150 types of armored vehicles and drones tailored for rescue, intelligence, and emergency operations. This facility is designed to adhere to strict NATO standards, ensuring that all products manufactured meet the highest quality and reliability requirements set forth by the alliance.
IAG’s strategic expansion into Bulgaria enhances its existing manufacturing operations in the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and Turkey. This move is part of the company’s broader strategy to diversify its production capabilities and increase its presence in the global defense market. By establishing a production base in Europe, IAG aims to streamline its supply chain and respond more effectively to the evolving needs of customers worldwide. With the opening of this new facility, IAG reinforces its position as a key player in the defense industry, dedicated to providing advanced solutions that meet the critical demands of today’s security landscape. The company looks forward to the positive impact this expansion will have on both local communities and the global defense sector.
