On March 5, 2024, during the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition, a contract signature ceremony was held between the Qatari Emiri Naval Forces (QENF) and Dearsan Shipyard within the scope of design and build project of 2 units of 50-meter Fast Attack Craft. The ceremony was attended by the Commander of Qatari Emiri Navy H.E. Maj. Gen. Abdullah bin Hassan Al SULAITI, President of Defence Industry Agency Prof. Dr. Haluk GÖRGÜN along with Dearsan Chairman Mr. Aziz YILDIRIM. Capable of undertaking effective missions in the scope of Asymmetric Warfare, Patrol, Protection of Territorial Waters, Anti Piracy, Reconnaissance and Surveillance, Search and Rescue, Disaster Relief Operations, Border Control and Base/Port Security, the Fast Attack Crafts will be equipped with weapon systems for Surface, Air Defence and Asymmetric Warfare.

The 50-meter Fast Attack Craft (FAC 50) is a 50.70 meters vessel with a beam of 9.2 meters and a draught of about 2 meters. Being specifically configured to meet the requirements of the Qatari Emiri Naval Force with a displacement still to be established, the hull of the boat is constructed from steel, while the superstructure is made of aluminium alloy. The new ships will be capable of effectively undertaking asymmetric warfare, territorial waters protection, antipiracy, reconnaissance and surveillance, search and rescue, disaster relief and border control and base/port security missions, being equipped with weapon systems for anti-surface, anti-air and asymmetric warfare. With crew accommodations for 33 persons, the new ship features a propulsion system centred on three MAN 20V175D-ML”+” high-speed diesel engines delivering 4,400 kW power each and connected to three waterjets, providing a maximum speed of 36+ knots and an endurance of 1,000 nm at economical speed. It is also equipped with two full redundant primary and one secondary diesel generator sets.

The new ship features a stern area for mission equipment and weapon systems with a launch and recovery station at the extreme stern for a 6.5 meters RHIB, while the bow and superstructures accommodate respectively the main gun and a surface-to-air missile launching system. Equipped with indigenous weapons and sensors, the only exception being Leonardo’s 40 mm gun, the FAC50 will be armed with Roketsan-made ÇAKIR missiles for anti-surface warfare and Sungur missiles for Anti-Air Warfare. Additionally, it will feature 2 Aselsan-STAMP remote weapon stations and two 12.7 man-operated machine guns. The sensor suite comprises MAR-D multi-beam 3D air and surface surveillance radar, Denizgözü Ahtapot-S (Seaguard Octopus-S) electro-optical surveillance and tracking system, a RESM from the Ares family, Aselsan anti-air decoy launchers and low probability of intercept (LPI) navigation radars

DEARSAN, is a modern shipyard, which operates in ?stanbul, Turkey. DEARSAN Shipyard has the ability to build 9 ships of various types at the same time with its 126 m long skid, 15.341 m2 closed ship building site, 15.870 m2 open area and 31.211m2 total area. DEARSAN Shipyard has NATO Secret Facility Security Certificate, NATIONAL Secret Facility Security Certificate, ISO 9001:2015 Quality Certificate, ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Certificate, ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Certificate and SASAD Defense Industry Manufacturers Association Certificate. In addition, the construction of 16 “Tuzla” Class Patrol Boats needed by the Turkish Navy is being carried out by our shipyard in accordance with the delivery schedule determined. The design of the 57-meter “Tuzla” Class Patrol Boats was developed by the DEARSAN shipyard. DEARSAN can design and build all of the following military ship types.
