As a national shipbuilding industry, PT PAL Indonesia for the second time takes an important role in security in the ASEAN region. This event also marked the beginning of the fabrication process for the construction of the Landing Dock Philippines ship. The event began with a presentation on the progress of the Philippines Landing Dock PT PAL Indonesia products by Project Head Parnianto, and continued with a presentation on several state of the art, namely the 60-meter Fast Missile Ship, Hospital Ship, and 163-meter Landing Platform Dock presented by SEVP TM Satriyo Bintoro.

With the presence of the Flag Officer in Command Philippines Navy (FOIC) Vice Admiral Toribio D Adaci, along with other stakeholders, this momentum is increasingly important to enhance defense diplomacy between the two countries through the acquisition of defense technology. The implementation of the first steel cutting, which was held at the Commercial Ship Division fabrication workshop, was marked by the pressing of a button by the CEO of PAL together with the FOIC Philippines Navy , as well as the signing of the silhouette of the Landing Dock Philippines (LDP) ship which was also witnessed by the Head of the LDP Project, Pangkoarmada II or his representative, and Chairman of the Philippines Navy Owner Representative (PNOR), as well as witnessed by the ranks of PT PAL Indonesia’s BoD and SEVP.

With an overall length of up to 124 meters, and a displacement of 7,200 tons, it can sail for up to 30 full days. PT PAL Indonesia is an Indonesian state-owned enterprise that manufactures ships for military and civilian use and conducts repairs and maintenance on ships and engineering. PT PAL Indonesia (Persero) was established in 1939 as Marine Establishment (ME) by the Dutch East Indies government. During the Japanese occupation, ME was renamed as Kaigun SE 2124. After Indonesia gained independence, the company was nationalized with the company name changed to Penataran Angkatan Laut (PAL). The Philippine Navy ordered its first landing platform/dock-type ship with the BRP Tarlac (LD-601) being made by PT PAL on June 5, 2015, with the ship commissioned into service on June 1, 2016. The contract was around $USD92 million. On September 29, 2016, PT PAL launched the second Strategic Sealift Vessel (SSV) known as BRP Davao del Sur (LD-602) for the Philippine Navy. On July 1, 2020, PT PAL was in talks with the United Arab Emirates for a landing platform dock-type ship.
