VIVO Defence Services, a 50/50 Joint Venture between Serco, the international provider of services to governments, and EQUANS, the leading energy efficiency and services company, has been awarded contracts to deliver asset and facilities management services to the United States Visiting Forces (USVF) by the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO). VIVO has been awarded contracts for four of the five contracts being tendered under the Crown Commercial Service Facilities Management Defence Marketplace Framework. VIVO will be responsible for undertaking a multitude of works from maintenance activities through to the development of new buildings and facilities at RAF Lakenheath, RAF Alconbury, RAF Molesworth, RAF Croughton, RAF Fairford and RAF Menwith Hill.

Jerry Moloney, Managing Director of VIVO Defence Services, said: “We are delighted that VIVO has been awarded these contracts. This important award reinforces our position as a key supplier to DIO and Defence. We are grateful to the MOD and the Defence Infrastructure Organisation for the trust they are placing in us and look forward to continuing to build on our parent companies existing relationships with the United States Visiting Forces”.

David Brewer, DIO’s Chief Operating Officer said: “We are proud of our relationship with the US Air Force and want to ensure we are providing them with the best possible service. These contracts represent a step-change in how we deliver facilities management services to the US Visiting Forces, and we have worked closely with our US colleagues to design these new contracts to ensure they reflect their needs.”

The total core contract value to VIVO for the four regions is estimated to be over £98m over the initial three-year period. There are a further two one-year extension options. In addition to the core fixed price contract, there will be £35m of additional works which will be commissioned as required by the DIO. Following a six-month mobilisation phase, the core work is scheduled to start in December 2022 and we expect additional project work to begin during 2023. VIVO has already been awarded contracts to provide asset and facilities management services for the UK Defence built estate and repairs and maintenance work for Service Family Accommodation, by the UK Ministry of Defence Defence Infrastructure Organisation.
