Since 2019, the United States Marines Corps (USMC) has depended upon Elbit Systems of America to provide lightweight night vision systems known as the Squad Binocular Night Vision Goggle (SBNVG) to deliver added clarity, agility, and lethality to their missions. The SBNVG is a helmet-mounted system that provides superior nighttime viewing in various environments and conditions, improving Warfighter situational awareness and, ultimately, performance. Now, the USMC will gain additional SBNVGs under a recent $49 million order the branch of service placed under an existing Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract with Elbit Systems of America. This ID/IQ is in effect through 2024 and all orders will be fulfilled from the company’s Roanoke, Virginia facility.

“This recent order for additional Squad Binocular Night Vision Goggles signifies that Elbit Systems of America is a partner of choice by the U.S. Marine Corps,” said President and CEO Raanan Horowitz. “We’re honored Marines are equipped with our night vision solutions and we’re committed to continuing to provide our Warfighters with the very best technology we have to offer.”

“For three years, the Elbit Systems of America team has delivered numerous SBNVGs to the U.S. Marine Corps under this contract and we’re proud of the continued trust in our night vision systems. Our team understands that wherever Marines are deployed, their important work must get done and our night vision solutions have to provide the added edge to see the mission through,” said Erik Fox, Vice President and General Manager of Elbit Systems of America – Night Vision.

The SBNVG enhances warfighter performance and agility with capabilities for overlayed image intensified and infrared imagery. This Gen 3 system combines the Optics 1 E-COTI with our F5032 for superior nighttime viewing under a variety of environments and conditions. Intra-Soldier Wireless (ISW) capability for networked growth capability to include remote sensors such as range finders and additional video feeds to be presented to the warfighter. Integrated compass provides heading information and forward projecting near infrared (NIR) illuminator enables subterranean (SubT) operations. These combined features maximize stand-off protection and increase situational awareness.
