The Russian Army Western Military District has finally provided photo of its newest 8X8 remotely controlled minelayer system, called the ISDM Zemledeliye, during special exercises of engineers at the Mulino range in Nizhny Novgorod. The latest Zemledeliye remote-controlled mine-laying vehicle that is also at the final stage of its trials has reduced an operator’s role to the minimum. The vehicle prepares flight mission assignments and pre-sets munitions, including their self-destruction time, in the automated mode.

The ISDM Zemledeliye is based on a KamAZ 6560 8×8 military truck chassis with a mine launching system mounted at the rear. The system has been developed by Ganichev NPO Splav (part of the Techmash holding (Rostec). NPO Splav is one of the leading global companies developers and manufacturers of multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), and one of the key companies providing Russian arms for the global market in the segment. In 2016, Splav joined with Motovilikha Plants. It is the only company in Russia which designs and develops multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) and cartridges.
