Royal Brunei Air Force Receives Insitu Integrator Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

At the 60th Anniversary of the Royal Brunei Air Force (Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei), His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam and Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces unveiled the latest capability of the Royal Brunei Air Force: The Integrator – American-made unmanned aerial systems (UAS) by Insitu Inc. Insitu is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company. The Royal Brunei Air Force has acquired at least one Insitu Integrator unmanned aerial system (UAS) to enhance its maritime surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities.

Chargé d’Affaires Emily Fleckner and Chief of the Office of Defense Cooperation Commander Randall Jones were pleased to meet His Majesty the Sultan at the unveiling of the Insitu (a Boeing subsidiary) unmanned aerial system, a new capability of the Royal Brunei Air Force. The U.S. is a proud defense partner of Brunei with over 20 years of defense cooperation, and now we are proud to have an American company provide the capability to help the Royal Brunei Air Force enhance maritime domain awareness to maintain peace and security in the region.

The Integrator is an unmanned air vehicle designed and built by Boeing Insitu to meet a U.S. Navy requirement for a small tactical unmanned air system (STUAS). It is a twin-boom, single-engine monoplane, designed as a supplement to the Boeing Scan Eagle and uses the same launcher and recovery system as the Scan Eagle. The Integrator has a length of 2.5 m, a wingspan of 4.9 m, a maximum takeoff weight of 74.8 kg, and a maximum payload weight of 18 kg. The UAV has an endurance of more than 24 hours, a maximum ceiling of 5,940 meters, and a maximum speed of more than 90 knots.
