American Roll-On Roll-Off Carrier (ARC) LLC, Parsippany, New Jersey, has been awarded a $86,914,021 option period modification to a previously awarded contract for international ocean and intermodal, time definite, port-to-port and door-to-door transportation service using ocean common or contract carriers offering regularly scheduled commercial service. The modification brings the total cumulative face value of the contract to $256,353,488.

Service includes shipment of both containerized and breakbulk cargo. All ARC vessels are under contract in the Maritime Security Program (MSP). The location of performance is worldwide as specified on each individual order. ARC operates a fleet of roll-on roll-off (Ro-Ro) vessels, a class characterized by ramp access. The option period of performance is from Sept. 1, 2021, to Aug. 31, 2022. U.S. Transportation Command, Directorate of Acquisition, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, is the contracting activity.

ARC operating in international trade primarily consists of the militarily useful and commercially viable MSP fleet of 60 ships and attendant global networks. The MSP fleet provides crucial and a core mariner base of over 2,400 highly trained and loyal U.S. citizen merchant mariners to U.S. Transportation Command (TRANSCOMv) and the Joint Deployment & Distribution Enterprise (JDDEvi). Without the ships, networks and mariners provided by the MSP fleet, it would cost the government tens of billions of dollars to attempt to try to replicate the capabilities provided.

American Roll-on Roll-off Carrier is the leading U.S.-flag Ro-Ro carrier operating liner services in the international trades. ARC provides port-to-port and end-to-end transport of heavy vehicles, helicopters, Household Goods (HHG), Privately-Owned Vehicles (POV), and other equipment for the U.S. government and its various agencies. We also carry agricultural and construction equipment for developing nations, Federal Transit Administration public transportation cargoes, U.S. Export-Import Bank preference cargoes, and other commercial break-bulk and Ro-Ro business.
