Two ferry flight took place on 6 and 14 June from Embraer’s factory at SÃ£o JosÃ© dos Campos, Brazil, to deliver A29 Super Tucano light attack aircraft to the Turkmen Air Force. Two aircraft departed on 5 June and a further three on the second flight. Any information about order of Turkmenistan to buy A-29 Super Tucano was not released until now. In 2019 Super Tucano turboprop light attack aircraft demonstrated for the first time by Turkmenistan. Two Super Tucano aircrafts were used in the training of the Turkmen Air Force.
On 15 June 2021 Scramble Magazine reported that the aircrafts have their roundels and serials taped over, but are registered PT-ZHN (c/n 314000272), PT-ZHK (c/n 314000273) and PT-ZHO (314000274). Three EMBRAER A-29B Super Tucano light attack aircraft for the Turkmenistan Air Force were noted at SÃ£o JosÃ© dos Campos (Brazil)Their future serials most probably will be 03 Blue, 04 Blue respectively 05 Blue.
The Embraer A-29 Super Tucano, also named ALX or EMB 314 , is a Brazilian turboprop light attack aircraft designed and built by Embraer as a development of the Embraer EMB 312 Tucano. The A-29 Super Tucano carries a wide variety of weapons, including precision-guided munitions, and was designed to be a low-cost system operated in low-threat environments. In addition to its manufacture in Brazil, Embraer has set up a production line in the United States in conjunction with Sierra Nevada Corporation for the manufacture of A-29s to export customers.
The aircraft has a strengthened airframe to sustain higher g loads; Kevlar armour protection; two internal, wing-mounted .50 cal. machine guns (with 200 rounds of ammunition each); capacity to carry various ordnance on five weapon hardpoints including Giat NC621 20 mm cannon pods, Mk 81/82 bombs, MAA-1 Piranha air-to-air missiles (AAMs), BLG-252 cluster bombs, and SBAT-70/19 or LAU-68A/G rocket pods. In 2012, Boeing Defense, Space & Security was selected to integrate the Joint Direct Attack Munition and Small Diameter Bomb to the Super Tucano.
