Tyonek Services Overhaul Facility, Kiln, Mississippi, has been awarded a ceiling $24,988,351 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for Excess Defense Article (EDA) Regeneration for the Philippines Air Force. The estimated value of the first order is $4,700,000. The contractor will provide the Philippines Air Force with full C-130 EDA Regeneration to include program depot maintenance. Work will be performed in Waco, Texas, and is expected to be completed by December 2022. This award is the result of a sole-source acquisition and is 100% Foreign Military Sales. U.S. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, is the contracting activity.

The United States offered two C-130H Hercules capability worth $32.2 million to the Philippines Air Force through the Foreign Military Financing grant program to strengthen the Philippine military’s logistical capacity for military and civil support operations, including humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) and distribution of COVID-19 supplies. The C-130H Hercules is capable of a maximum payload of 19,000 kilograms, with a flying range of over 1,900 kilometers. The 220 Airlift Wing at the Philippine Air Force Brigadier General Benito N. Ebuen Air Base in Cebu will own and operate the aircraft.
The Philippine Air Force 222nd Airlift Squadron, which is under the command of the 220th Airlift Wing, currently fields four C-130s – two C-130Ts, one C-130B, and one C-130H – all of which operate from Cebu. The C-130B is expected to be retired in the near future. The 222nd Airlift Squadron will acquire two more Lockheed C-130 “Hercules” cargo aircraft to add to its existing fleet of five used to transport medical supplies and personnel tasked to contain the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.
