Developed in France, the H145 Full Flight Simulator offers pilots an immersive experience with extremely faithful reproduction of their operational missions. The system incorporates Airbus Helicopters’ avionics and software suite, features the latest simulation technologies and can generate a wide range of scenarios to train pilots in realistic flight conditions.

This full-motion flight simulator will offer American pilots high-level domestic training opportunities with the most comprehensive and versatile equipment available on the market. The Helisim simulation centre, located inside the Airbus Helicopters facility in Grand Prairie, Texas, has just inaugurated the new Reality H® Full Flight Simulator and it was able to commence commercial training operations as soon as the FAA qualification was announced.

The 18,500 square-foot Helisim Simulation Center was designed to house two simulator bays, with the possibility to expand to hold three simulators in the future as needed. The training center also operates an H125/AS350 full flight simulator and an EC135/EC145 flight training device. Helisim, a joint venture of Airbus Helicopters, Thales, and DCI which brings 20 years of experience in simulation training with Airbus helicopters.

Developed by Thales, the Level D H145 full flight simulator is one of the most advanced simulators on the market, thanks to the integration of Airbus Helicopters avionics and software suite, a larger field of view, 4K projection technology, the unique Thales full electric Hexaline motion, and a new intuitive touch screen instructor station. The simulator becomes Airbus Helicopters’ second H145 full flight simulator, the first being located in Germany.

The Airbus Helicopters H145 is a twin-engine light utility helicopter developed and manufactured by Airbus Helicopters. The H145 is based upon the MBB/Kawasaki BK 117 C1, which became a part of the combined Eurocopter line-up in 1992 with the merger of Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm’s helicopter division of Daimler-Benz and the helicopter division of Aérospatiale-Matra to form Eurocopter. The helicopter was earlier named EC145; an updated version, EC145 T2, was renamed H145 in 2015.

The H145 is marketed for passenger transport, corporate transport, emergency medical services (EMS), search and rescue, parapublic and utility roles. Military variants of the helicopter have also been produced under various designations, such as H145M or UH-72, and have been used for training, logistics, medical evacuation, reconnaissance, light attack, and troop-transport operations.
