BAE Systems Wins $18 Million Contract to Delivery of Mode 5 Capable IFF Transponder System

BAE Systems, Information and Electronic Systems Integration Inc., Greenlawn, New York, is awarded an $18,337,677 modification to a previously awarded contract. This contract exercises an option for the production and delivery of 300 Mode 5 capable AN/APX-117A/118A/123A(V) Common Identification Friend or Foe Digital Transponder Systems and associated shop replaceable assemblies in support of fixed and rotary winged aircraft for the Navy, Army and non-U.S. Department of Defense participants. Work is expected to be completed in May 2023. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity.

BAE Systems has been a leader in IFF systems technology worldwide for more than seven decades, having delivered over 14,000 transponders, 1,500 interrogators, and 6,000 combined interrogator transponder systems for use across a multitude of platforms. They can also replace outdated systems with small form factor units that support SWAP-C objectives and accommodate future upgrades.
