General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) has submitted its concept design proposal for the U.S. Army’s Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle (OMFV) competition. The proposal provides the innovative, next-generation approaches necessary to develop an OMFV that delivers required capability and transforms all aspects of the Infantry Fighting Vehicle’s mission and value chain. GDLS embraces the U.S. Army’s iterative and cooperative OMFV development approach, which empowers Soldiers and designers to work in partnership to inform the OMFV concept design as it matures.

The company is poised to enter into the next successful chapter of this relationship with the OMFV. General Dynamics said it is offering a new platform designed specifically for the U.S. Army’s next-generation combat vehicle competition, that will replace Bradley, but did not provide details on the submission.
