The U.S. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Tinker Air Force base, Oklahoma, has awarded Vertex Aerospace a $65,603,271 firm-fixed-price contract to perform Contractor Operated and Maintained Base Supply (COMBS) for the Air Education and Training Command’s fleet of T-1A trainer aircraft. This contract award follows Vertex’s prime seat awards on the U.S. Air Force Installation Contracting Center’s Aircraft Maintenance Enterprise Solution and Consolidated Rotary Wing Maintenance contract vehicles.

The Raytheon T-1 Jayhawk is a twin-engined jet aircraft used by the United States Air Force for advanced pilot training. The swept-wing T-1A is a military version of the Beechjet/Hawker 400A. T-1A students go on to fly airlift and tanker aircraft. Vertex has supported the Jayhawk trainer fleet since the Air Force procured the aircraft in 1992. Vertex will provide logistics support to over 170 T-1A trainer aircraft at five domestic U.S. Air Force bases. This award is a modification to a previously awarded contract.
