Soldiers assigned to 3rd Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division completed a tank live-fire exercise on Aug. 25th, 2020, at Smârdan, Romania. The unit exercised the firing and maneuvering capabilities of their M-1 Abrams tanks. The battalion fully exercised the capabilities of their M1A2 Abrams tanks, which are 1,500-horsepower track vehicles that are capable of engaging targets up to 4,000 meters away. The 15th United States Infantry Regiment is a parent regiment in the United States Army. It has a lineage tracing back to the American Civil War, having participated in many battles.
