Indonesian shipyard and shipbuilder, PT Caputra Mitra Sejati (CMS) has launched two more PC-40-class (Pari-class) patrol boats on order for the Indonesian Navy. Citing Janes, the two ships were launched on July 27, 2020, under the name of KRI Posepa (870) and KRI Escolar (871). It is the 10th and 11th PC-40-class vessels that will enter in service with the Indonesian Navy. The ship is manufactured by the company PT. Palindo Marine, a Shipyard located in Tanjung Uncang, Batam Island, Indonesia. Besides these two latest vessels, PT Caputra Mitra Sejati also built the sixth to ninth-of-class, which were commissioned by the TNI-AL between July 2017 and December 2019.
Pari-class patrol boat is a lightly armed variant of the Indonesuian Navy’s missile-capable KCR-40M class. It has an overall length of 46.5 m, an overall beam of 7.9 m, and a hull draught of 1.7 m. The PC-40 is armed with one Leonardo Marlin-WS 30 mm gun system from naval gun and two 12.7mm heavy machine gun. The country continues its effort to modernize its fleet with new patrol vessels including the PC-40 program designed and manufacture by local companies including PT Palindo Marine in Batam and PT Caputra Mitra Sejati (PT CMS).
