Russian Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu inspected the Teykovo formation of the Strategic Missile Forces, which is armed with Topol-M and Yars mobile ground missile systems with intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs). The minister inspected the organization of the march of the missile battalion and its deployment in the field position, examined the autonomous launcher of the Yars missile system, assessed the actions of the crew of the Yars launcher. During his working trip, he checked the organization of combat duty at the mobile command posts of the missile division and missile regiment.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Strategic Missile Forces, Colonel-General Sergei Karakaev, reported to the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation on the pace of re-equipment of the Vladimir missile formation with new missile systems. In addition to re-equipping the missile formation with missile systems, the division has completed work on the creation of a new infrastructure, which allows providing high-quality conditions for the training of duty forces and personnel on combat duty. The commander reported to the head of the military department on the combat capabilities of the new types of weapons of the Strategic Missile Forces – Listva remote demining vehicle, engineering support, and camouflage vehicles.

The same amount will be received by the end of 2020, which will bring the share of modern missile systems of the Strategic Missile Forces to 81%.
The Strategic Missile Forces or Strategic Rocket Forces of the Russian Federation or RVSN RF are a military branch of the Russian Armed Forces that controls Russia’s land-based intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs). The RVSN was first formed in the Soviet Armed Forces, and when the USSR collapsed in December 1991, it effectively changed its name from the Soviet to the Russian Strategic Rocket Forces or Strategic Missile Troops. They operated all Soviet nuclear ground-based intercontinental, intermediate-range ballistic missile, and medium-range ballistic missile with ranges over 1,000 kilometers.
