According to CZDefence, the Czechoslovak Grup (CSG) in collaboration with Indonesian Company PT Pindad will deliver Pandur II series 8×8 armored vehicles to Indonesia following a contract signed in 2019. For the period from 2021 to 2022, Indonesia could acquire several Pandur II armored vehicles equipped with Ares (Elbit Systems) UT30MK.II with a Bushmaster Mk 44 30mm cannon. The project will be lead by the Czech Company Excalibur Army and Tatra Defense Vehicle, which has already delivered military equipment to Indonesia Armed Force. The Czechoslovak Group, is promoting the Pandur II 8×8 that received the Indonesian designation Cobra to the Indonesian Army in several versions.

The Pandur II 8×8 is an improved modular all-wheel-drive version of the Pandur 6×6 wheeled armoured vehicle. It was developed as a private venture by the Austrian company Steyr-Daimler-Puch Spezialfahrzeuge and is currently in production for the Portuguese Armed Forces. Steyr-Daimler-Puch Spezialfahrzeuge is part of General Dynamics European Land Combat Systems, which is also the parent company of MOWAG of Switzerland and Santa Bárbara Sistemas of Spain. Excalibur Army has acquired the production and sales rights of Pandur II vehicles for Eastern Europe and Asia in 2015 from General Dynamics Land Systems (GDELS).

The Czech company Excalibur Army has an agreement to market the Pandur II CZ in a number of countries. Four Pandurs II 8×8 CZ were received by Indonesia military already back in September 2017, and the vehicle in standard IFV configuration has been presented during Indo Defence 2018 (held from 7th till 10th November in Jakarta). It carries the Ares UT30MK2 unmanned turret mounted with a 30mm cannon; two vehicles are fitted with a Remote Weapons Station mounted with 12.7mm machine gun, and the last vehicle is a Fire Support Vehicle (FSV) fitted with the CMI Defence 105mm turret. All four vehicles have been trialled in Indonesia.
