The Ministry of National Defence Republic of Poland and manufacturer Åukasiewicz-PIAP Institute announced that the Polish Army (Wojska LÄ…dowe) received its first Robot Patrolowo PrzenoÅ›ny (RPP) 1806 engineer unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) on 2 March. The first batch of 18 RPP UGVs will be delivered to the 2nd Masovian Military Engineer Regiment by the end of the 2020. The remaining 17 are to be delivered in 2021. The contract is valued at 80.74 million PLN (USD20.9 million).
Robot Patrolowo Przenośny (RPP) 1806 engineer unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) that will support EOD/IED mission to remove hazardous loads and materials will be delivered complete with sensor for visual reconnaissance of objects and items, mine and hazardous material detection devices, mass destruction weapon usage sensors and toxic chemicals usage sensor, including explosives launcher for remote neutralization. Tracks and electric drive allows RPP to operate both in urban and rugged terrain.
On 27 November, the Industrial Institute for Automatics and Measurements (PIAP) signed a contract with the Armament Inspectorate of Poland for 35 Mobile Reconnaissance Robots that will support Polish explosives engineers. The ceremony was attended by Jadwiga Emilewicz, Minister of Entrepreneurship and Technology, Mariusz BÅ‚aszczak, Minister of National Defence and professor Piotr Szynkarczyk, Director of the Industrial Institute for Automatics and Measurements (PIAP).
