Sikorsky/Lockheed Martin Awarded Contract for VH-92A Presidential Helicopter Upgrade

Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., a Lockheed Martin Co., Stratford, Connecticut, is awarded a $470,813,279 firm-fixed price modification to a previously-awarded fixed-price incentive-firm contract. This modification exercises options to procure six low rate initial production lot II VH-92A aircraft, interim contractor support and six cabin interior reconfiguration kits in support of the Presidential Helicopter Replacement Program. Work will be performed in Stratford, Connecticut (50%); Coatesville, Pennsylvania (36%); Owego, New York (10%); Patuxent River, Maryland (3%); and Quantico, Virginia (1%), and is expected to be completed in December 2022. Fiscal 2020 aircraft procurement (Navy) funds in the amount of $470,813,279 will be obligated at the time of award, none of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity.

The Sikorsky/Lockheed Martin VH-92 is a military variant of the Sikorsky S-92. The Sikorsky/Lockheed Martin VH-92 is an American helicopter under development to replace the United States Marine Corps’ Marine One U.S. Presidential transport fleet. The VH-92A will transport the president and vice president of the United States and other officials. Sikorsky brings unmatched experience and a proven track record to this mission having flown every U.S. commander-in-chief since President Dwight D. Eisenhower. The U.S. Navy awarded a $1.24 billion fixed-price incentive Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) contract with production options to Sikorsky on May 7, 2014. The production options for the remaining 17 aircraft will be finalized in FY19. The VH-92A will continue this legacy for decades to come.
