The Boeing Corp., St. Louis, Missouri, has been awarded a $70,000,000 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the procurement of GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrators . Will be performed at St. Louis, Missouri, and is expected to be complete by Dec. 31, 2022. This award is the result of a sole source acquisition. Fiscal 2018 ammunition procurement funds in the amount of $26,285,280 are being obligated at the time of award. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, is the contracting activity.

The GBU-57A/B Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP) is a precision-guided, 30,000-pound (14,000 kg) “bunker buster” bomb used by the United States Air Force. This is substantially larger than the deepest penetrating bunker busters previously available, the 5,000-pound (2,300 kg) GBU-28 and GBU-37. The Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP) is a weapon system designed to accomplish a difficult, complicated mission of reaching and destroying an adversaries’ weapons of mass destruction located in well-protected facilities.
