General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) announced on 30 November that it has purchased German armoured vehicle maintenance company FWW Fahrzeugwerk GmbH and integrated it into a newly formed subsidiary in the country. FWW Fahrzeugwerk GmbH is a qualified maintenance and service provider for the German Army and other international customers. FWW will become part of the newly-established General Dynamics European Land Systems Deutschland, located in Berlin. FWW has a wide range of services, enabling GDELS to further expand its current customer service portfolio, enter new markets and reinforce the company’s position in Germany,
The acquisition of FWW represents a significant step in expanding General Dynamics’ footprint, capability and customer offerings in Germany. This acquisition is also a further step in GDELS growth strategy to position GDELS as one of the leading land systems providers in Europe. General Dynamics European Land Systems – Deutschland, which GDELS has established in Berlin, will, as parent company, take on Fahrzeugwerk’s maintenance and service work for customers including the German Army, as well as that of GDELS-Bridge Systems. Together, the two companies employ almost 600 people in Germany.

FWW employees approximately 220 highly skilled employees and is headquartered in Woldegk, Germany.
