The M10 MkII Riverine Assault Boat is designed to operate along the inland water, river networks and coastal areas, chiefly for the insertion and extraction of Navy mission. These 10m-long SOC-R boats were built by Marsun, the Thai dockyard that also built the first three M10 Mk I SOC-Rs in 2012. The Triple of original M10 Mk I have been built and delivered to Royal Thai Navy, operated by the Riverine squadron, Royal Thai Fleet. The RTN needs more than 40 SOC-Rs to replace the Riverine Squadron’s 39 aging PBRs, some of which are more than 30 years old. All will be locally built.
Capable to operating in shallow water, Coastal area and sea environments, day and night in conditions of the sea up to Sea State 2, carrying the special operations force unit and weapons not less than Eight (8) persons excluding 5 (Five) Crews. Able to move the ship to the sides, supporting the beaching and landing operation, transportable by air. special designed to avoid visual detection using special low water spray hull. Each vessel has provisions for the mounting of the following weapons systems, 02(Two) of 7.62mm Machine guns mounted at FWD wings, 02 (Two) 7.62mm Machine guns mounted at AFT wings, 01 (One) 0.50 inch Machine gun mounted at AFT center. Propulsion comes from two 420hp engines with waterjets offering maximum speeds of 40+kt.
