The Corsac 8×8 is a upgraded model of Pandur II armored personnel carriers developed as a private venture by the Austrian company Steyr-Daimler-Puch Spezialfahrzeuge. The Corsac infantry fighting vehicle developed jointly MSM Group and GDELS Steyr, with the participation of Slovak EVPU and Konstrukta Defence companies. Corsac was developed by MSM Group in conjunction with General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) and Konstrukta Defence to meet the requirements of the Slovakia’s national Armed Forces.

Combat weight Corsac in the standard configuration is 19.8 tons, the vehicle has a length of 7.43 m, width 2.67 m, height 2.95 and and ground clearance of 0.45 m. APC has armor protection for the NATO standard STANAG 4569 Level 2 and mine protection level STANAG 4569 level 3A / B. The prototype measures 7.43 x 2.67 x 2.95 m and has a ground clearance of 0.45 m. The vehicle is operated by a three-person crew comprising the commander, driver, and gunner with provision for up to six dismounts or 9,500 kg of payload.

The Corsac is powered by ISLe HPCR diesel engine (450 h.p.). The vehicle has a combat weight of 19,800 kg (including 9,500 kg of payload or six mounted troops), a maximum road speed of 115 km/h and a swimming speed (optional) of 10 km/h. Corsac has received a suite of nuclear, biological and chemical protection (NBC) equipment.-

The Corsac is equipped with Turra 30 remote controlled weapon station (RCWS) by the EVPU company. It comprises Soviet/Russian 30mm 2A42 automatic cannon and two ready-to-launch 9M113 Konkurs (NATO reporting name: AT-5 Spandrel) anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM). According to the EVPU’s press department, 2A42 can be replaced by Bushmaster Mk.44 and 9M113 – by Spike anti-tank missiles. The turret can carry a 7.62mm or 12.7mm machinegun as the secondary weapon.
