The Danish Frogman Corps is the Naval Warfare Group OF Denmark. The Frogmen are trained to enforce special operations at Sea, Air and Land. The unit is based on the Naval Base of Kongsøre and solve task’s in peace and war time.

The Danish Frogman Corps were formed in 1957 with inspiration’s from the british Special Boat Squadron, american Underwater Demolition Teams (U.S Navy SEALs) and the norwegian Marinejegerkommando. The unit was organized under the Naval Diving School at Copenhagen’s Naval Base. The unit was transfered to an independant unit in 1970 and were administrative organized under the Submarine Squadron. In 2004 they were transfered to an independant unit in the Navy’s Operative Command. The unit is now a part of the Danish Special Operations Command (SOCOM).

Their primary objective on the ground is special reconnaissance and on the ocean is it boarding operations against hostile ship’s, sabotage and other direct action’s. The unit has since the early 00’s been deployed in Afghanistan, Iraq and furthermore as Special Insertion Unit at Horn of Africa and lately been deployed in Syria in the Destruction of Syria’s Chemical Weapons.
