The South Korean Army’s advanced K2 Black Panther main battle tanks demonstrated their river-crossing capability without the support of an engineering unit at Namhanggang River. South Korean tanks crossed the river on their own to show off their independent operational capabilities. The South Korean Army’s K2 Black Panther battle tanks in camouflage roll out to the field. When the start signal is given, smoke bombs are the first to go off to cloud the enemy’s view. Then the K2 tanks effortlessly cross the 2-meter-deep river. Only the gun barrels and snorkels for air are seen above the water’s surface. They are followed by K200 infantry armored vehicles which use its own buoyancy equipment to cross the river and secure the target area. The K2 tanks and K200 infantry armored vehicles showed off their capability to independently carry out offensive operations by crossing the river on their own, instead of using the pontoon bridge set up by the Army’s engineering unit. The Korean-made K2 Black Panthers can cross a river as deep as 4.5 meters without the help of an engineering team, so they can carry out river-crossing operations in almost all areas of Korea.
